NO SMOKING IN PUBLIC PLACES,’ in first phase, police had convinced the
people in case they smoke at the public places. With the conclusion that
the program was not so effective and also the number of the smokers was
not decreased; in the second phase, police has started a more strict
campaign. In this campaign, each smoker was caught and left after
slapping the fine of Rs.100, according to Senior Superintendant of
Police Bikram Singh Thapa.

SSP Thapa says, “We have started charging the fine of Rs.100 in case
some people smoke at public places because we have to council them only.
The law had already been made; we have started to materialize the legal
provision.”

According to SSP Thapa – Smoking at public places has been common these
days. The children from School and College also have started following
them. So this campaign has been taken actively and seriously.
