Snakebite claims two including a pregnant

Mahottari, Aug 18: Snakebite has claimed the lives of two persons including a pregnant woman in the district on Thursday.

Mahabuda Khatun, 22, from Dhamaura VDC was bitten by a poisonous snake in her sleep. She breathed her last on the way to Janakapur zonal hospital, said a local Roshan Saha.

Similarly, 55-year-old Harinarayan Mandal from Ekdara VDC-1 was bitten by a snake while working in his maize field in the morning. Efforts to cure him went in vain at Jaleshwor Hosptial as the venom had already spread throughout the body, and he passed away.
